GUANGZHOU, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinaˇs Ren Chengyuan maintained Chinaˇs golden streak in the womenˇs cross-country event at 16th Asian Games on Thursday.
Mountain bike comes back in the Asian Games after not being contested in Doha four years ago. China has won the womenˇs cross-country event every time it has been contested in the Asian Games and now Ren grabbed the glory once again.
Ren, 24, finished in one hour 46 minutes and 35 seconds with eight laps in the 43-kilometer battle. Her compatriot Shi Qianglan grabbed the silver and Katayama Rie took the third.
